QuietWatcher Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026 Effective date: May 5, 2026
Our approach to privacy
QuietWatcher is built so that you can monitor what matters to you without handing your data to anyone — including us. The principles below shape this Policy:
- Your monitor data stays with you when it can. When the application runs on your device without cloud features enabled, your monitor configurations and check results stay on your device. We do not transmit them to our servers.
- Cloud features collect only what they need. When you turn on a feature that requires our cloud — such as cross-device sync or alerts delivered through email, SMS, or voice — we collect only the information needed to deliver that feature, and we describe what we collect below.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't use your monitor data to train machine-learning models.
This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
QuietWatcher is the privacy-first monitoring product provided by Div42, a doing-business-as name of Robles Industries LLC, a Texas limited liability company. In this Policy, "Div42," "we," "our," and "us" refer to that entity, and "you" refers to the individual or organization using the Service.
If you have any question about this Policy, contact us through our contact form at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to the QuietWatcher application, our cloud services (account, sync, billing, alert delivery, support), and our marketing and informational websites (together, the "Service"). It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or systems you choose to monitor; those targets have their own privacy practices, and your interaction with them is between you and the target's operator.
3. Information we collect
We organize this section by the parts of the Service you actually use, because what we receive depends on which features you turn on.
3.1 Account and registration information
When you create an account, we collect the email address you sign up with, the password you choose (which we store only in hashed form), your display name and any organization name you provide, and your communication preferences. We may also collect other information you choose to provide in your profile.
3.2 Application use without cloud features
The application performs the checks you configure — against the websites, APIs, network endpoints, ports, and services you specify — directly from your device. When you use the application without turning on any cloud features (for example, cross-device sync or notifications delivered through email, text, or voice), your monitor configurations, check results, alert history, and local settings remain on your device. We do not receive that data, and we do not store it on our servers.
The application may, however, transmit:
- Crash reports and anonymous diagnostic telemetry to help us fix bugs and improve quality. You can turn these off in Settings. Crash and diagnostic data does not include your monitor configurations, target identifiers, response samples, or check results.
- Update checks so you can receive new versions.
When you run a check, your device sends a request directly to the target you specified. That request does not pass through our servers, but the target's operator may log the connection and the request will be identifiable to your device's network.
3.3 Cloud features
When you turn on a feature that uses our cloud, we collect:
- The data you sync. This may include your monitor configurations, check results, alerts, incidents, and related metadata, depending on the feature.
- Authentication and session metadata. When you sign in, we collect information needed to operate the session, including a session token, IP address, and basic device or browser characteristics. We use this for security and fraud prevention.
- Alert-delivery information. If you set up cloud alerts, we collect the email addresses, phone numbers, or other endpoints you specify, and we keep records of whether each alert was queued, sent, delivered, and acknowledged.
3.4 Subscription and billing information
For paid plans, our payment processor collects and stores your payment details. We receive only a non-sensitive summary (such as the card brand and last four digits), the subscription status, and billing history.
3.5 Marketing website
When you visit our marketing or informational pages, we collect server logs (IP address, user-agent, referrer, pages visited) and, where you consent, basic analytics. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.
3.6 Customer support
If you contact us for support, we keep your message and our response, along with any information you choose to share with us about your issue.
3.7 What we don't collect
We don't collect financial account numbers, government identifiers (such as Social Security or driver's-license numbers), health information, biometric identifiers, precise geolocation, or the contents of communications between you and people outside the Service.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Operate the Service — run your account, deliver the features you turn on, and provide customer support.
- Bill paid plans — process subscription payments through our payment processor and send billing notices.
- Improve the Service — use crash reports, anonymous diagnostics, and aggregated, de-identified usage data to fix bugs and prioritize features.
- Secure the Service — detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Communicate with you — send transactional notices (account, security, billing, and alerts you've configured) and, if you opt in, occasional product news. You can unsubscribe from product news at any time.
- Comply with law — meet our legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, preserve evidence, and exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your monitor configurations, check results, or other Customer Content to train machine-learning models or share them with third parties for advertising.
5. Service providers and other recipients
To run the parts of the Service that depend on our cloud, we engage a small number of service providers — for example, a payment processor for paid plans, a cloud hosting provider for your account and any data you choose to sync, and providers that deliver messages or notifications we send to you. Each provider is bound by a written agreement that requires confidentiality, security, and processing only on our instructions. We do not share monitor data or check results with third parties for advertising or for their own commercial purposes.
Beyond our service providers, we share information only:
- With Team Members of your account, to the extent your role-based settings allow.
- For legal reasons, when we reasonably believe disclosure is required to comply with law, respond to a valid legal process, prevent harm, investigate fraud, or protect the rights and safety of Div42, our users, or the public. We will challenge overbroad requests where we can and will notify affected users where we are not legally prohibited from doing so.
- In connection with a corporate transaction — a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business — provided the recipient agrees to honor this Policy or gives you notice and a meaningful choice if material changes are required.
- With your consent, for any other purpose.
We do not share monitor data or check results with the operators of the targets you monitor.
6. How we protect your information
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including:
- Encryption in transit between the application and our cloud services.
- Encryption at rest for sensitive data we store, including the authentication credentials your monitors use.
- Access controls that limit access to systems containing your data to authorized personnel and require multi-factor authentication.
- Default-secure monitor behavior — the application warns you when a monitor would transmit credentials over an insecure channel, and check-result samples are truncated and scrubbed of common credential patterns before they are stored.
- A vulnerability-reporting channel at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us and a process for prompt remediation.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify affected users without undue delay and as required by law. By using the Service, you agree we may give that notice electronically (by email, in-app message, or a notice posted in the Service); residents of jurisdictions that grant a right to written notice may request it by submitting our contact form at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us.
7. How long we keep your information
- Application data on your device — kept on your device until you delete it or uninstall the application.
- Cloud account data — kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after you close it, after which we delete or de-identify it, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Billing records — retained for the period required by tax and accounting law.
- Crash reports and anonymous diagnostics — retained no longer than necessary to investigate and resolve issues.
- Aggregated, de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of it; the right to object to certain processing; and the right to withdraw consent.
- Access and correction — review and update most account information from within the Service. For anything you can't change yourself, submit a request through our contact form at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us.
- Deletion — delete monitors, history, and your account from within the Service. To request deletion of any other information we hold about you, submit a request through our contact form at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us.
- Export — the Service provides export tools for your monitor configurations and history. Authentication credentials are excluded from exports for your safety.
- Telemetry opt-out — crash reporting and anonymous diagnostics can be turned off in Settings.
- Marketing opt-out — unsubscribe from product news at any time using the link in those emails. We will continue to send transactional and security notices.
- Authorized agents — where the law allows it, you may use an authorized agent to exercise your rights; we will require reasonable verification.
We will respond to a verifiable rights request within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
The downloadable application does not use browser cookies. Any web-based portions of the Service and our marketing website use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management, plus, where you consent, a privacy-respecting analytics cookie. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some web features may not work without strictly necessary cookies. Our marketing site does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
11. International transfers
The Service is operated from the United States, and our cloud services are primarily hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection law may differ. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
12. Region-specific notices
- California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), and the right to limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information beyond what's necessary to provide the Service). To exercise these rights, submit a request through our contact form at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
- EU/EEA/UK (GDPR/UK GDPR): the legal bases for our processing are (a) performance of a contract with you, (b) compliance with our legal obligations, and (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our contact for GDPR purposes is reachable through our contact form at https://quietwatcher.com/contact_us.
- Other jurisdictions: if you live somewhere with specific privacy rights, we will honor them where they apply. Contact us if you are unsure.
13. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party sites, app stores, or services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before sharing information with them.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will give you notice by email (for account holders), in-app notice, or a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before it takes effect, except where applicable law allows immediate updates. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. An archive of prior versions is available at https://quietwatcher.com/legal/privacy_policy/archive.
